With Venti Boost, Atlas Concorde offers an update of the encaustic tiles in a 20x20 cm tile to be used with the Boost and Boost Pro collections, maintaining the same background graphics and shades. It’s a collection that can also be used on walls, like a scenic decorative wall or as a backdrop to furnishing elements that enhance the look of the room. First used at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, encaustic tiles were used to create multicolored floors and walls, giving the interiors of the time a sense of majesty, and they can still be found today in vintage palaces and buildings. Thus named because they were made with a bottom layer of cement and a top layer of marble powder, white cement, and colored pigments, they immediately became a favorite of designers. Gio Ponti himself was captivated by them, and between 1960 and 1962 he reinterpreted them with 33 decorations in the colors of the sea and sky to floor the lobby and the 100 rooms of the famous Hotel Parco dei Principi in Sorrento, the first designer hotel.
