The ULM collection, designed by Ramon Esteve, is conceived as a basic due to its rational and universal character. It is a modular collection which harmonizes ergonomy, design and technology based on the basic volume shapes of cube, prism and sphere. Becoming a new member of the ULM family is a synthesis of the traditional yarn lamp. As a result is born a new simple volume -according to the language of its collection- but figurative at the same time, evoking a strong emotional connection between the object and its user. Following the other items in the collection, the nee lamp follows rational parameterd by using only the essential and eliminating any redundancy. The final result is a flexible and easy to maintain design item. A functional seating collection fashioned as the new norm with an inherit universal and logical appeal. The Ulm collection seeks unity within its design and that of other products, combining amongst diverse elements that form a complete ensemble. The sofa, like the chairs, daybed, coffee table, and ottoman embody rigid and resilient structures for rest and support that provide total comfort. Much like the name Ulm, its soft forms are a tribute to the formal approach of the Ulm School.
