Type: Round marble coffee table
Toto is a marble round coffee table. The graphic sign and playful geometry define the modular round coffee tables Toto designed to complete the sofa area by providing a support surface at different heights and widths. A versatile collection that pays homage to the joyful aesthetics of Memphis, with a modern twist. Description and materials The coffee tables are composed of three elements: a ring structure, a base and a top that is available in a variety of materials and sizes. The angled, matt black tubular steel frame is “O”-shaped and fits perpendicularly onto the glossy varnished beech wood cylindrical foot, forming a double “T” shape, hence the name TOTO. The 20 mm thick marble top is available in Carrara white or Verde Alpi with the foot in beech and varnished in glossy white or glossy green respectively. The top in pigmented leather 90, gold, black, anthracite and mud, has a 3 mm steel sheet core, the edge, entirely finished and painted by hand, features a thickness reduction that creates a stylish detail. The leather coffee table has a glossy black varnished beechwood foot. The three different heights allow the tables to be used either as a freestanding table at the side or front, or as an element placed above the seat cushion. The graphic shape makes them suitable for creating scenarios around different types of sofas ei-ther used individually or combined with each other in an interplay of intersections and partial overlapping to obtain more articulated compositions with a dramatic im-pact. Innovative content A project that is the result of research into materials, colours and shapes: the marble and leather of the tops, the steel structure and the varnished wood of the base are put together with a new expressive language that is not conventional and ironic. The alternation of glossy and matt finishes underlines the simple geometries of which they are composed. “Toto for me is the idea of joy and elegance brought together in a single piece of furniture.” Bertrand Lejoly
