SALINAS By BAXTER
Designer: Baxter P.
Manufacture year: 2022
Type: Rectangular recycled PET rug
Salinas is a rug made in India. The yarn used is obtained from the post consumer reconversion of PET bottles through an innovative depolymerization process. Extraordinary for its flexibility, ease of use and softness totally recycled and therefore in turn recyclable, the ecological yarn represents an important milestone in terms of sustainability and technical quality, use and UV rays resistance. Frame: 100% recycled PET. Rug made with “hand loomed” technique, a particular technique of intertwining the weft threads with those of the warp on the loom. With this method the threads are intertwined and fixed by means of a spool, the result is a carpet without fleece. Originally the rugs produced with this technique are known as Kilim, today revisited in colours suitable even for the most contemporary environments. Slight colour variations and inhomogeneity on the surface are not to be considered as defects but as characteristics of the yarn and of the artisanal dyeing process.
