Mind the Gap blares out. This famous announcement lends its name to one of four new products from the creative collaboration between Nichetto Studio and Sancal, inspired by Milan’s Turati station. Mind the Gap is a range of warm rugs, a natural companion to the other three pieces of furniture. The first incursion of the firm into this product category, Mind the Gap fills an empty space in Sancal’s catalogue, a natural accessory for the brand’s upholstery and occasional furniture. For this project Sancal has counted on the experience and the delicate know-how of one of Spain’s oldest looms. Made of 100% pure virgin wool by the expert hands of a select team of artisans who use the tufting technique, Mind the Gap rugs are inspired by the geometry and colours of Turati’s platform. The manufacturing process can create very precise designs and generate different heights, adding an extra dimension. Circles and lines intertwine to create a hypnotic pattern. The rug is available in one size (200x300) with five different colour combinations. This piece brings warmth to any space and captivates with its seemingly infinite symmetries.
