MHC.3 MISS By Molteni & C.

Collection: Heritage

Designer: Tobia Scarpa , Afra Bianchin Scarpa

Manufacture year: 1986

Type: Ash chair with armrests

MISS is a chair with armrest with structure in natural or black tinted ash, seat in leather or hand woven, ecru or grey, paper cord.‎ Miss chair, designed by Afra and Tobia Scarpa in 1986.‎ The form is linked to a system of soft, unbroken, linear rhythms.‎ The legs are slim and divaricated, to ensure stability.‎ The front ones are bent to form the armrests and continue into the curve of the backrest.‎ The back legs reach the backrest from behind, underpinning it.‎ The seat is inserted between the lines and links them.‎ Tobia Scarpa has re-designed the armrest joint to make the chair comfier and more linear.‎ Molteni&C is re-examining its own history with an eye to the future.‎ The 80!Molteni exhibition, the creation of the company’s historical archive and its recently inaugurated Molteni Museum have provided an opportunity for revival, from the origins of modernity.‎ Intriguing traces have emerged from a past that turns out to be contemporary, ripe for a re-think today.‎ Unique pieces that can step straight out of their museum showcases and into our contemporary homes.‎
