Metropolis XXL is a completely glass table with a rectangular top.‎ The Metropolis XXL table widens the range of the existing Metropolis collection.‎ Essential and eclectic, it is the main character of homes and offices.‎ It can be perfectly adapted to any interior design style because of the lightness of the glass and the vast range of available dimensions.‎ The glass top available in round or rectangular shape is laid on the bases, characterised by an elegant geometric design.‎ Table with big dimension top in tempered extra clear or smoked glass.‎ The bases, made of several glass parts glued together, are placed next to each other so as to support tops of various forms and dimensions.‎ Tops and bases, in extra clear or smoked glass, can have the same finish or a combination of the two.‎ Metropolis is a collection of furnishings enhanced by a pleasant materic contrast, generated by the combination of glass and ceramic, including dining and living room tables, side tables and consoles.‎ All the items stand out for a base in extra-clear or fumé glass, composed of a series of vertical parts welded together, with different lengths, heights and angles.‎ The tops resting on the bases come in the new ceramic+glass finish and in the variants Noir Desire, with gold and bronze veins, Calacatta Arabescato, white with grey-beige veins, and Grigio Orobico, with light and dark grain.‎ The top is made by welding a sheet of ceramic to one of glass, with a final result of absolute aesthetic purity: reduced thickness, large sizes and high technical performance to stand up to wear and maintenance.‎ The tables are also available in the version with a glass top, in different sizes.‎ Metropolis makes reference to the silent film of the same name directed in 1927 by Fritz Lang, which represented a futuristic new world; the name was chosen by the designer to emphasize the visionary architectural concept behind the project.‎ Scutellà wants to break free of the traditional concept of the table as a top with four legs, creating an unusual and original work of micro-architecture thanks to a game of staggered planes.‎
