Mathilda's seat and upholstered back are flame-retardant, stress-resistant polyurethane foam in varied densities on ash frame; raffiawrapped back is also available.‎ Arm and leg connection is covered with fabric or leather armbands; arms and legs are ash or oak in a range of finishes.‎ Covers are not removable.‎ The chair is stackable up to 3.‎ An everyday object, an easily recognized shape from our collective memory, that is why it feels familiar, there is something of a resemblance.‎ Mathilda is a modern design in the architectural sense, in the proportions between the whole and the detail.‎ The concept is simple, perfect for its intended use: two trestles, which give solidity and affinity, hold the seat and act as a support for the backrest while also making the chairs stackable.‎ Considered, careful intuition brings the design bang up-to-date to create a seating system which is coherent, practical and instantly recognizable.‎
