“Knot” is a suite of furniture pieces whose relationship to each other is derived from the morphology of sign. Starting with a structural need, we created a common language for products with different functions. The joint connecting the vertical and horizontal structures stands out as the identifying detail for each piece in the series. In this new language, different pieces with different functions are united by a single signature element, as the pieces communicate with each other to write an original story. Each piece retains its own distinctive form and function, while the joint creates an aesthetic unity. The Knot system has been designed to keep evolving, to meet its users’ needs with workspace solutions such as desks, benches, meeting tables, high tables, bookcases, partition panels and storage units.
