King's Cross is a small table, main structure in carved Canaletto walnut solid wood, lower shelf in shiny lacquered wood or upholstered in leather or fabric. Marble top available with storage tray upholstered in leather or fabric. The imagery that has inspired King’s Cross takes its cue from the meeting of East and West, in a collection composed of a low table, cupboard, console, bar cabinet and beauty desk. The references range from the ideal urban grid of the Romans, to the structural members of Gothic cathedrals, as well as the rigorous forms of the art of the Ming Dynasty. The design of the structure grips, contains, suspends and sustains the surfaces and storage elements, reformulating and emphasizing the soft, squared forms. Echoes of a reticular structural architecture are transformed into cultured, refined furnishings, with a sense of natural, harmonious eclecticism. The relationship between the exoskeleton and the full presence of the volumes is based on and contrasts with the presence of voids, not missing gaps but a new way of organizing graphic-compositional proportions, with effects of light and shadow. The individual compositions thus resemble complex natural settings. Elegance, lightness, power, symmetry and asymmetry, combined with different materials and color, mold the phrasing inside a perfect wooden grid. The structure of the exoskeleton, in tendon-like bands, features profiling with a trilobate, rounded cross-section that continues in the intersection-interlocks of the solid wood planks that softly connect, conserving the formal-structural continuum. The whole collection is an expression of crafted elegance and refined industrial technique, a contemporary vision of timeless modernity. A set of cabinets and complements in solid open-pore Canaletto walnut, with parts and accessories in lacquered wood and leather. The marble tops can contain trays for various objects. The support frame in solid wood combines exclusive finishing with lightness of form. The storage elements are lacquered or covered in leather or fabric, enhancing the material contrasts.
