Joints play a crucial part in structures of all kinds: although they are not usually conspicuous and sometimes not even visible at all, they give stability and solidity. The design deliberations behind Hug tables revolved around them. The frame literally hugs the legs, clinching them in the curves running around its outline. The joints comprehensively perform their structural role while also giving the tables a highly distinctive look. In addition, its position within easy reach just under the table top means that the frame also serves another purpose by supporting a selection of three accessories that can be moved around and attached freely: a bag hanger, a tray and a pen holder.
