The Five to Nine daybed has its roots in those 1900s interiors that portrayed a place for creative escape – a space as physical as it was mental - the studios of the great artists. The daybed has a wood structure with open-pore painted finish and turned legs. Bolster pillows upholstered in leather or mohair velvet run its entire length, and an armrest and backrest can be freely positioned along the edge, while an integrated round coffee table with metal or cement surface completes the piece. The seat can be a place to relax or wait in comfort and, thanks to its sleek linear design, it can stand alone or be part of an arrangement of several pieces and accessories. Drawing inspiration from the Japanese lifestyle philosophy, the daybed can also be used as a guest bed, with a special linen-upholstered, softly padded mattress that, when placed on the bolster pillows, transforms the seat into a real sleep oasis.
