Featuring the distinctive Domus armrests, and with a seat and backrest made out of a single plywood element, the Domus Lounge Chair is exceedingly comfortable.‎ In 1946, designer Ilmari Tapiovaara and his wife Annikki won the commission to design the interior of the Domus Academica student housing complex in Helsinki.‎ Confident that functionalism would promote social equality, Tapiovaara created the Domus Lounge Chair as part of a series of furniture for the students.‎ Over time, the Domus Lounge Chair’s popularity has extended far beyond the location for which it was first intended.‎ Frame: Solid birch or Solid oak Seat and back: Form-pressed birch veneer Seat and back surface: Birch veneer or Oak veneer Domus Lounge Chair is available with or without upholstery: Fabric upholstery with PU foam padding Leather upholstery with PU foam padding
