The D.‎859.‎1 table, designed primarily as a meeting table for up to ten people, stands out not only for its impressive size—over 3,60 meters long—but especially for its simple yet refined design.‎ The legs are notable for their fine-membered modernity, creating a trapezoidal single-span bridge upon which the large tapered top conveys the idea of aerodynamics.‎ Originally made of solid ash with bronze ferrules, it is now also available in a darker-toned wood such as Black Stained Ash.‎ In addition to its original dimensions, the D.‎859.‎1 is available in two smaller version that faithfully reproduce the harmony and proportions of the original design.‎ TECHNICAL INFORMATION Structure: In solid ash wood (Fraxinus excelsior) painted in the varieties according to product specifications.‎ Top: Composite support in spruce slats (Picea abies) with external parts in high density fiber panel, covered with sliced veneer in ash wood painted in the varieties according to product specifications.‎ Feet in satin finish brass and floor support in plastic material.‎ FINISHES Structure and solid wood top: Ash wood in natural colour or stained black.‎ Feet: Satin brass.‎ Molteni&C is re-examining its own history with an eye to the future.‎ The 80!Molteni exhibition, the creation of the company’s historical archive and its recently inaugurated Molteni Museum have provided an opportunity for revival, from the origins of modernity.‎ Intriguing traces have emerged from a past that turns out to be contemporary, ripe for a re-think today.‎ Unique pieces that can step straight out of their museum showcases and into our contemporary homes.‎
