CROSSING By MisuraEmme
Designer: Mauro Lipparini
Type: Sectional bookcase
"A true innovation reinvents the bookcase concept. The panels that compose it, freeing themselves from their weight, allow the shelves to be suspended, giving a brand new sense of 'visual lightness'. Our Research Centre has identified a material with maximum stability and unquestionable lightness: a 3-layer poplar planking, crossed between between them, laminated between two layers of MD and veneered. Poplar is an extremely light wood, easily workable and readily available in the area. A 'popular' wood that does not create problems for the environment thanks to its faster regrowth than other woods. The door overlaps on the shelves and shoulders, maintaining the same characteristics as in Tao Day, generate design thicknesses of 38 mm for both. Thus, the thickness and material of the abutments give the system a stability that gives the shelf the opportunity to be hung by dowels, directly on the wall, thus creating an unusual effect of lightness. Free from the constraint of back panels: the absence of back panels is made possible by the thickness of the elements. The stability of the material makes it possible to organise shelves for 1280 mm wide compartments without the need for metal supports. A multifunctional and versatile furnishing system with sliding doors for floor-standing compositions, also available for wall-hung compositions. If we add to the features we have already mentioned, the fact that MisuraEmme uses water-based paints, our system becomes one of the "greenest pieces of furniture" on the market.
