Bottega d'Arte, the prestigious haute-couture project by Iris Ceramica inspired by the values and history of red earth for artistic ceramics, presents Città di Faenza to mark Cersaie 2023, as a reinterpretation inspired by the 1974 project of the same name. The company first introduced the collection in that year as an all-round solution for the home, signaling the start of a direct dialogue with architects and interior designers. Refined and modern colors highlighted three-dimensional, geometric and abstract shapes and decorations in which the Geo circle motif recurred as a distinctive feature. The project deservedly won a gold medal in the same year, at the 32nd “International Competition of Ceramic Art” in Faenza, and is still preserved today at the Museum of Ceramics in Faenza and the brand’s historical museum in Fiorano Modenese. The spirit of the collection is now reborn in the Bottega d’Arte offering, which reinterprets Città di Faenza, still on a red clay surface, with a focus on the Geo decoration, featuring a circle that encloses a three-dimensional geometric mesh. Città di Faenza is available in five sophisticated colors - white, red, blue, light blue, green - and the Geo decoration in gold. In addition to the traditional 15x15 cm mono-format, Città di Faenza includes a 7.5x15 cm brick format, which is also found in the Terre Lucide finish by Bottega d'Arte. Bottega d’Arte, Iris Ceramica’s new line, is a rebirth of the traditional ceramic art, a return to the origins of an age-old, long-admired ability. Inspired by the atmosphere experienced on entering a craftsman’s workshop, this line leads us through a unique sensory heritage. Evoking tempting smells, captivating sounds, and enchanting shapes, this material rediscovers familiar sensations to fulfil a desire for beauty. A craftsperson develops an intimate relationship with their raw material and their craft expresses a bond with the local area established through the tradition that has matured in their workshops. Taking its name from the Italian for these crafts workshops, Bottega d’Arte explores a rare tradition that originates from the hands and mind, an exercise in manual skills and imagination that forms a world with special allure for ceramics.
