Once upon a time, there were candles and the enchanting glow of a flame, items perfected by centuries of use and transportable, cheap and seductive. Cand-led is a candle for the new millennium. Inspired by the original candle, it preserves the same use (it can be transported anywhere), proportions (it is, to all intents and purposes, a vertical item that you can hold) and charm (a stylishly diffused light), but has a totally new design concept. Fitted with batteries, Cand-led recharges like a mobile phone and can then be used for 6-8 hours without having to connect it to the mains. As Cand-led is lifted off the table, the truncated-cone shape of the base conveys the idea of an item that not only accompanies you when dining al fresco but also when popping down to the cellar.
