Body is the new design by Sylvain Willenz for Sancal. Its name refers to its backrest, which reminds it a human’s body silhouette, in particular back and shoulders. Made from ash wood, several layers of moulded veneer give shape to a structure with organic, smooth, and simple lines. The uniqueness of singular wood exterior and its curvature create unique details for Sancal’s first “non” upholstered chair. The quotation marks make sense because Body is not only available in this finish, there is more to choose from. From a single, humanised structure, we present a wide-ranging collection. Apart from its natural finish, it can be stained in all the colours from our range, and there is also an upholstered version. In addition, a practical padded textile cover has been created which can be easily removed or put on at any time. Both upholstered options are available in selected fabrics. Its versatility is also defined by the different leg options: stackable metal, wood and with castors; as well as the possibility of attaching metal arms, which can be lacquered in all the colours on our chart. The seat of Body is slightly wider than most chairs, which makes it more spacious and comfortable. In short, a new elegant, and minimalist chair that works in all types of interiors due to its universal and customisable character. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Seat - Wood shell: high frequency pressed wooden laminate with an crown cut ash veneer stained as per our chart. - Upholstered shell: high frequency pressed wooden laminate with a fixed cover. Legs - Wooden legs: solid ash veneer stained to match the wood shell, with glides for smooth or delicate surfaces fitted as standard. Glides for abrasive floors and carpets are also available (indicated on the order). - Metal legs: F1 extra matte lacquer steel, with glides for smooth or delicate surfaces fitted as standard.
