Overview
ARCHI By Ligne Roset

Collection: Archi

Designer: Pierre Paulin

Manufacture year: 2015

Type: Fabric footstool

Like the TV chair (1953, reissued by Ligne Roset in 2009), Archi combines a satin black lacquered or brilliant-chromed tubular steel base with a sculpted foam-clad metal-structured body.‎ In 2015, the same base is also offered in a matt black or cherry-stained solid ash version.‎ The seat section seems to be suspended above an airy base.‎ Here, between the seat and base, we find the inverted symmetry so beloved of Pierre Paulin.‎ The overall effect is one of lively, aerodynamic modernity.‎ And for good reason: the automobile theme is omnipresent, whether in terms of the upholstered metal structure, the elastic suspensions used or the particular way in which the seat sits on the base on silentbloc dampers.‎ The comfort is perfect : the generous slope of the seat, the ergonomic design of the curving seat-back supports the body precisely yet softly thanks to the qualities of the Bultex foams used and the elastic-webbed suspension of the seat and back.‎ The high back with its ‘ears’ enables one to rest both head and shoulders.‎ Final noteworthy point : following in the steps of the Italians, the model 194 made use of the very first rubbed foams designed by Pirelli.‎ Range Armchair W 88 D 91 H 96 Seat height 42 Fireside chair W 64 D 91 H 96 Seat height 42 Footstool W 64 D 75 Seat height 38
