AIR WILDWOOD By Lago
Collection: Air
Designer: Daniele Lago
Manufacture year: 2008
Type: Double bed
A sectioned trunk of old oak finds a place in the bedroom as a headboard for a bed suspended on extra-clear glass legs. Set against the wall or placed in the middle of the room, the Air Wildwood bed creates a contrast between the transparency and perfection of glass and the physicality, warmth and ‘imperfection’ of wood. Fabric-covered elements can be attached at any point along the headboard to create bedside tables or shelves. The effect of the floating, ethereal Air bed is created by the absolute transparency of the extra-clear tempered glass that supports it. The bed seems to levitate off the ground, creating the feeling of sleeping in a cloud. The platform of the bed is suspended on four nearly invisible glass legs that give it a strong feeling of lightness. In all of its sizes, double, single and three-quarter, Air is an elegant, refined bed perfectly suited to any interior. The Air bed, picking up the concept of the Air sofa, is highly transformable: components like back rests, shelves and drawers can be attached to the frame at any point, and you can even add a shelf that runs along the entire perimeter. Moreover, installing a light under the base of the bed, you can create an evocative theatrical effect.
